OVERVIEW – The National School Board Association’s Council of Urban Boards of Education (CUBE) supports excellence in urban school board leadership. As part of its mission, CUBE creates educational opportunities for urban school board leaders to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to serve as effective local education policymakers and as advocates for equity in public education.

Committed to addressing the educational challenges that exist in our nation’s urban centers, CUBE helps school boards close the student achievement gap and provide all students equal opportunity to receive a high-quality education, focusing on meeting the needs of our nation’s historically underrepresented and underserved students.

PROJECT GOALThe primary objective was to curate an unforgettable CUBE Urban Night Out experience, infusing sponsorships to enhance the event’s impact and create valuable connections amongst members. The strategy aimed to secure sponsor partnerships that aligned with the event’s vision, providing sponsors with significant brand exposure, and maximizing networking opportunities for attendees.

Event Planning & Logistics

  • Conducted thorough research on the target audience, including their preferences, interests, and industry trends.
  • Developed a unique event theme that aligned with the organization’s brand identity and resonated with the target audience.
  • Selected appropriate venues that accommodated the anticipated number of attendees and reflected the desired ambiance.

Branding & Visual Identity

  • Developed a consistent visual identity for the event, including branding elements, signage, and promotional materials.
  • Encouraged attendees to share their experiences on social media platforms using an event-specific hashtag
  • Leveraged multimedia tools, such as custom event apps or interactive displays, to enhance the overall experience and reinforce brand visibility.

Sponsorship Alignment

  • Worked closely with the Director of Exhibits and Sponsorships to understand their expectations, objectives, and desired outcomes for their sponsors.
  • Aligned the CUBE Urban Night Out’s theme, ambiance, and activities with sponsors’ goals to create a cohesive and mutually beneficial partnership.
  • Strategically placed sponsor branding, signage, and promotional materials throughout the event venue to ensure maximum visibility and recognition.

The Result

By implementing a well-crafted strategy that seamlessly integrated  sponsors, the event achieved its objectives of delivering a dynamic experience, facilitating valuable networking, and providing sponsors with exceptional brand exposure. Through meticulous sponsor alignment and strategic integration, the CUBE Urban Night Out not only delivered an engaging and unforgettable experience. It still proved itself worthy of being NSBA’s premiere signature event to attend.
